TODD (SPUD) STEVEN KACHUROWSKI

February 25, 1967 - May 5, 2026

Todd passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 59.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, and lifelong companion of 41 years, Rhonda; as well as their two cherished cats, Holly and Hope. He will be deeply missed by his mother, Grace; his sister, Cheryl (Sheldon); his brother-in-law, Lee (Karen); and his sister-in-law, Corinne. Todd was a proud uncle to his nephew, Matthew (Jillian); and his niece, Katelyn (David); and will also be fondly remembered by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Todd was predeceased by his father, Ronald Kachurowski; and his in-laws, Norman and Dianna Huggins.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Todd attended Sisler High School, where he met the love of his life, Rhonda.

Todd dedicated 36 years to Winpak, where he built many lifelong friendships before retiring in April 2023. He worked with many family members at Winpak, including his brother-in-law, Lee, who was his best friend.

He enjoyed spending time with Rhonda, sharing many activities such as fishing, golfing, and travelling. They spent much of their summers at their happy place and second home at Cripple Creek Campground, where they loved hosting barbecues, playing games, and making lasting memories with close friends who felt like family. He loved quadding and would go with Rhonda on many muddy adventures in Marchand, Manitoba. This love later grew into getting a side-by-side ATV, where Todd and Rhonda would pack a lunch and go on day-long adventures.

He was well known for making amazing smoked meat, from his famous pastrami to his homemade bacon. He was always so generous and kind with sharing his creations, after they passed the Rhonda taste test. His love for cooking has been passed down to future generations, sharing his smoking secrets.

Fishing was one of Todd's greatest joys, a passion he developed at a young age while learning from his father, Ron. This love remained with him throughout his life, as he and Rhonda spent countless days together on their boat, enjoying Otter Falls in the Whiteshell.

Todd had a love for travel. He and Rhonda shared many wonderful adventures, including a memorable cruise to Alaska in 2010. They especially loved visiting Mazatlán, returning many times over the years, and were grateful to make one final trip there in December 2025 with Cheryl and Sheldon. In more recent years, Todd discovered a love for baseball, travelling to Toronto with Lee and Karen to enjoy several unforgettable Blue Jays games. Closer to home, Todd and Rhonda were also devoted mini-ticket holders for the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Todd and Rhonda also experienced the warm hospitality of Newfoundland twice, traveling there with Lee and Karen. They took two special trips to Vancouver, most recently in January 2026, when Todd was able to visit Gibsons - the setting of one of his favourite shows, The Beachcombers. Todd lived a full and meaningful life, one that was cut far too short.

Todd was a quiet but steady presence - an anchor for his family. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed.

Thank you to the staff that provided the short palliative care and to the paramedics that attended who were kind and caring.

Please join us for a come-and-go to celebrate Todd's life on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Mosaic Funeral Home, 1839 Inkster Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba.
